Contemplative Photography-Seeing the World with Fresh Eyes

Portland, Ore. — August 3, 2012 — Andy Karr will present a lecture entitled Contemplative Photography-Seeing the World with Fresh Eyes at the Portland Japanese Garden (611 SW Kingston Ave., Portland, OR 97205) on Thursday, September 13 (5:30 – 7:30 p.m.) and workshop on Friday, September 14 (9 a.m. – noon).

Part of the Portland Japanese Garden’s year-long programmatic theme of The Healing Garden, photographer, teacher, and author Andy Karr will provide training in how to see clearly and make images based on fresh perceptions. The two-day program will begin with an evening talk and slideshow, followed by a half-day workshop that includes: a presentation of the basic contemplative photography principles, a slideshow, visual exercises, a photographic assignment, and critiques of participants’ images.

The cost of the lecture is $10 members /$15 non-members. The cost of theworkshop is $35 members/$45 non-members.Participants may choose to attend the lecture or workshop only or the pair the two. The lecture and workshop package is$40 members/$50 non-members.
